Saint-François-Longchamp is located in the Rhône-Alpes in the region of Savoie on the north side of the Maurienne valley. The town is situated between 800 and 2800 meters above sea level.The ski resort was built in the 1950s with the longest and fastest ski lift in Savoie at the moment.
The Col de la Madeleine 2000m altitude and over is 19 km long with an average gradient of 8%.
