PAKISTAN ~ Sheosar Lake - Deosai National Park ~

...Fantastic nature view and new National Park... it is often quoted as “The Roof of the World”  because it is the second highest plateau in the world after the Chang Tang in Tibet and one of the highest lakes... In local Balti language, Deosai is called Byarsa, meaning "summer place"... it can only be visited during the summer season... Thanks a lot Aamir!! ❁◕ ‿ ◕❁

Sheosar Lake is located in Deosai Plateau (near Skardu) at an elevatior of 13.590 ft. Deosai is a treeless wildernessover 13.000ft covering an area of more than 3.0000sq k. Sheosar lies at the western end of the plateau towards the Astore side. The lake is deep blue in colour and presents magnificient views of snow-capped mountains. Himalayan Marmots and many migratory birds can be seen around the lake.

The Deosai National Park is located in Northern Pakistan and  was established in 1993 to protect the survival of the Himalayan brown bear and its habitat. Deosai is the combination of two words "Deo" (giant) and "Sa" (shadow). For centuries, it is believed that this place is haunted by giants, so it became "The Land of the Giants".

PAKISTAN ~Godur Lake-Swat Valley ~

One of the many beautiful lakes in the Swat Valley also known as "the Switzerland of Asia"... a high, sky blue-colored glacier lake...Thanks a lot Eliska!!

Backside card:
Godur is the largest and nearest lake to Kalam, bur rarely visited due to difficult approche. The lake lies to the southwest of Kalam at 12.6000ft above sealevel. From Kalam, there are two routes to Godur. One route follows the Godur Nullah... and climbes very steeply through the narrow gorge. This route is quite difficult and strenous. The second route is from Desan (near Utror) which is long but less steep.

Swat is a valley in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.Swat was a princely state which was merged in Pakistan in 1969. Swat is a place for leisure lovers, hikers, and archaeologists. There are at least over 100 archaeological sites in the valley less than 10% of they are excavated.
