Nice views of the town of Stari Grad, located on probably the most famous island in Croatia...  situated on a sheltered bay and known for its historic architecture and cultural heritage... the Stari Grad Plain, near the town of Stari Grad is an agricultural landscape that was set up by the ancient Greek colonists in the 4th century BC, and remains in use... this landscape is almost entirely preserved from its original form... the ancient layout has been preserved by careful maintenance of the stone walls over 24 centuries, along with the stone shelters and the water collection system... the same crops, mainly grapes and olives, are still grown in the fields... the plot division system of the Stari Grad Plain represents one of the masterpieces of Greek culture in the Mediterranean...Thanks Nikola!

Stari Grad is located on the northwestern coast of Hvar in Dalmatia and literally meaning “Old Town,” It is the oldest town in Croatia with a rich history spanning over 2,400 years.founded by Greeks in 384 BC as Pharos.

In 2008, the Stari Grad Plain was added to UNESCO’s list of World Heritage sites.
