Great new flag from the FOTW postcard series... the flag  features a blue field, symbolizing peace, honesty, and the country's unity with the sky and endless steppe... at the center is a golden sun with 32 rays shaped like grain, representing life, wealth, and prosperity... below the sun is a golden steppe eagle, symbolizing the state's power, independence, and soaring aspirations... a golden ornamental pattern called "koshkar-muiz" (the horns of the ram) decorates the hoist side, representing cultural traditions... the flag was adopted in 1992...  Bedankt Lara!ヽ(ヅ)ノ

Kazakhstan is a landlocked country bounded  by Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, the Aral Sea,Turkmenistan and the Caspian Sea. It is the largest country in Central Asia and the ninth largest in the world. The capital is Astana  in the north-central part of the country. Kazakhstan, formerly a constituent (union) republic of the U.S.S.R., declared independence in 1991.
