... Nice view of the city's main station and one of the most important transport hubs in the state of Saxony-Anhalt... it is a stop for long-distance and regional services... and can accommodate around 40,000 visitors and 560 train stops per day... in the station halls are small shops, restaurants and cafes... with lovely stamp and special postmark"America's First" issued to mark Stamp Day... Thanks Dustin!【ツ】
The architecture of this railway station was mainly the work of Paul Thoemer and Friedrich Peltz. It was built between 1887-90 in the style of the Italian High Renaissance and was regarded as a model for other larger railway stations.(Dresden)
This station is an island station because the central reception building is located in the middle between the tracks. It has 13 platforms, of which 10 are covered by the station hall. The actual station building is located in the middle between tracks 6 and 7.
