... Pretty nightview of a British colonial-style luxury hotel with a rich history... opened its doors to guests in 1887 and is one of the few remaining 19thC hotels in the world... a significant landmark and architectural icon... and among Southeast Asia’s most distinguished holiday destinations since the 1880s... it houses a tropical garden courtyard, museum and Victorian-style theatre... Raffles Hotel is famous for its Singapore Slingđčat the Long Bar... this cocktail was developed by a bartender working at the Long Bar in Raffles Hotel Singapore before 1915... (for the coctail lovers:đit is a gin-based semisweet, sparkling fruity punch with a delightfully complex flavor)... Thanks a lot Ravindra!【ă】

Raffles Hotel was established by Armenian hoteliers, the Sarkies Brothers responsible for other luxury hotels in the region during the colonial era named after Singapore's founder Sir Stamford Raffles.
Although Raffles Hotel Singapore opened in 1887, its layout continued to evolve, with hotel wings, suites and other facilities added over the years. However, it was the hotel’s new main building, designed by R. A. J. Bidwell of Swan & MacLaren and completed in 1899, which turned out to be the jewel in the crown.
