GERMANY ~ Halle ~

... Many lovely views of a gem of a town rich in history and with a strong artistic and musical heritage... Halle is perhaps best known as the birthplace of the Baroque composer Georg Friedrich Händel, who later went on to a successful career in London... the great German composer (1685-1759) spent 18 years in Halle and now almost on every step you can find something named after him... the city has also a beautiful square called Marktplatz with a magnificent ensemble of preserved old buildings... home of the University of Halle-Wittenberg, one of the oldest in  the country... an economic and educational center... with another young wild animals series stamp... sweet "Alpine Steinebocks"💙 and special First Day postmark... Thanks a lot Dustin! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Halle, in full Halle an der Saale is a city in Saxony-Anhalt Land (state), east-central Germany. It is situated on a sandy plain on the right bank of the Saale River.

Halle in translated from Celtic as "a place rich in salt". Salt-harvesting has taken place in Halle since at least the Bronze Age (2300–600 BC). Actually, salt was the main source of wellness in the Middle Ages.
