CANADA ~ Hangman's Beach - Halifax Harbour - Nova Scotia

... Nice view of two Queens of the sea sailing past Hangman's beach... the Bluenose II and Queen Elizabeth II... Halifax harbour is Canada’s Atlantic Gateway to the World... Hangman's beach, immortalized by Nova Scotia historian and novelist Thomas Raddal, sits at the entrance to the harbour... it was so named beause Britsh sailors guilty of mutiny or desertion were tarred and hanged as a warning to other sailors entering the Halifax's Harbour... the sight of executed deserters or traitors hanging on a beach became a gruesome and frequent sight... now this beautiful Seaport is a premier arts and cultural destination for tourists and locals... with  great matching stamps👍 celebrating the 100st anniversary of the Bluenose a fishing and racing schooner, postmarked at Lunenburg... Bluenose II was built in 1963 as a replica of the original Bluenose in Lunenburg... the original was lost in 1946 on a reef near Haiti... Thanks a lot Glenn !(✿ ♥‿♥)

The world’s largest shipping lines call on the Port of Halifax, connecting the port to more than 150 countries.

Hangmans Beach is a safe pebbly beach in McNabs Island. It's around 3.14km in length. This beach is also known as McNabs and Lawlor Islands Provincial Park.
