... View from the past... it is the last completely preserved former station waiting room of the Harburg long-distance train station dating from around 1900... this waiting hall offered 1st and 2nd class travelers an elegant restaurant... since 1999 the Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof has been located in these premises... with its size of around 356m2 and a ceiling height of seven meters it is now used as an exhibition space to promote and convey young, contemporary art... with a stamp showing a modern subway station also in Hamburg "Überseequartier"... and nice special postmark... Thanks a lot Dustin!【ツ】

The architect Hubert Stier designed the waiting room in the style of historicism. This imitated the neo styles and combined them in new ways. The brick-colored brick buildings refer to the Hanover School, which is part of the neo-Gothic brick style. Features from the Neo-Renaissance can be found in round arches, pilasters, dark wood paneling and the coffered ceiling.
