GERMANY ~ European Flag ~

... Nice Europe flag made out of blue stamps of many European countries designed by Papersisters... with matching stamp commemorating the German Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2020... it shows the official logo "Together for Europe’s recovery"...  and with great Special First Day Postmark... The European flag symbolises both the European Union and, more broadly, the identity and unity of Europe. It features a circle of 12 gold stars on a blue background. They stand for the ideals of unity, solidarity and harmony among the peoples of Europe. However, the number of stars has nothing to do with the number of member countries, though the circle is a symbol of unity.

The presidency of the Council is responsible for the functioning of the Council of the European Union, the upper house of the EU legislature. It rotates among the member states of the EU every six months.
