HONDURAS ~ Maya Site of Copan - UNESCO ~

... Great views of one of the best, well managed ancient Maya Sites... a jewel of Mayan architecture and sculpture... Copan, considered by many as one of the most important and impressive cities of the ancient Maya civilization to visit... the recovered and partially restored ruins that are possible to visit, make only one small part of what this beautiful city was at its peak stage during the classic Mayan period... the museum nearby  is among the best on-site museums... it has the real stellae (several stellae in the ruins are replicas)...  the site sit in an unbelievably lush valley, it is easy to spot a variety of resident animals that roam around the ruins...  among those are monkeys, guacamayas (large parrots), macaws, sloths, and peccaries...Thanks a lot Cesar!! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
