... Nice view of an exquisite small 8th-century Anglo-Saxon casket shaped like a small house... constructed from carved bone panels, most likely whalebone or walrus tusk, and bound by a bronze frame... it represents one of the finest surviving examples of Middle Saxon craftsmanship... the bone panels are decorated with exquisite intricate carvings of animals and plants... measuring 12.8 cm long, 6.85 cm wide, and 12.7 cm high, its small scale suggests it was likely used as a chrismatory (a container for holding holy oils) or to house precious holy relics, such as cloth associated with the Virgin Mary... with cute "The Little Dragon Coconut"😊 stamp and the official special cancellation postmark to commemorate the "Rapunzel meets Postcrossing" event.. Thanks Dustin!【ツ】
