Beautiful aerial view of  town often called the "Little Venice" on the Croatian coast... set on a small island connected by bridges to the mainland and the island of Čiovo... this medieval town features a smattering of Venetian Renaissance and Romanesque buildings inside its 15th-century walls as well as a picturesque, buzzy promenade overlooking a yacht-filled Adriatic Sea...it  is one of the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic towns in Central Europe... a walk through  its narrow, polished limestone streets in the historic centre is like a journey through time... Trogir was founded by Greek colonists in the 3rd century BC as Tragurion (‘tragos’ is Greek for ‘male goat’) and boasts 2,300 years of continuous urban tradition in its narrow, maze-like streets. Over the last two millennia, it has been ruled and populated by the Greeks, Romans, the Byzantines, Venetians, the Hapsburg Empire, the French, the Yugoslavs and finally today, the modern-day Croatians.

Since 1997, the historic centre of Trogir has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
