USA ~ Statue of Liberty - New York - UNESCO ~

.. Beautiful close up view of one of America's most recognizable symbols and one of the most famous and iconic statues in the world... 🗽"Lady Liberty"🗽 represents freedom, democracy, and once a welcoming beacon for millions of immigrants... the Crown features seven rays or spikes symbolizing the seven continents and seven seas... the Torch held high in her right hand represent enlightenment and progress... the Tablet in her left hand is inscribed with the date "July 4, 1776" in Roman numerals to honor the U.S. Declaration of Independence... the outside is made of thin copper... it used to look shiny and brown, but air and water turned it green over time... accessing the Crown requires climbing 377 total steps, including 162 narrow steps from the Pedestal to the Crown... Thanks a  lot Denise! (✿◠‿◠)
