La Camosciara is located in the province of L'Aquila, the area is made up of a suggestive rocky amphitheatre defined as “ dolomitic ” as it is composed of limestone and dolomite, the same rocks that form the well-known Dolomite mountain range.
Camosciara enjoys the status of "Integral Reserve" , within which the original natural characteristics are fully preserved, without any human intervention on the local flora or fauna, which is therefore uncontaminated.
The National Park Abruzzo was established in 1923 and is located in the heart of the central Apennines between the Abruzzi, Lazio and Molise on an area of (±) 440 km2.
