GREECE ~ Minos palace - Knossos - Crete ~

... Nice aerial palace view that is believed to be one of the oldest and most important historical sites of Europe... the Minoan culture lived on Crete thousands of years ago, and Knossos being their largest city was probably the capital or central power... it was not just a palace, but a whole city, including hostels, baths, sanctuaries, workshops, food stores, kings’ rooms, throne room, shelters for aides, banquet halls, and numerous stairs and terraces, and was constantly populated up until the Roman period... it’s said that Knossos is designed to be like a labyrinth... it takes up the space of two football fields... with lovely matching stamp👍...Thanks Dustin!【ツ】

Knossos, lies southeast of Heraklion, in the valley of the river Kairatos and dates back to around 7000 BC in the Neolithic Age.

Many artefacts of Knossos are not on display at the archaeological site, you will have to go to the Heraklion Archaeological Museum to see them.
