MOZAMBIQUE ~ FOTW ~

... Pretty flag view from the FOTW postcard series... and my first from Mozambique👍...the national flag of Mozambique was adopted in 1983... the colors and symbols have significant meaning... green represents the riches of the land and yellow is symbolic of minerals... white symbolizes peace while black represents the continent of Africa... the red triangle represents the fight for the nation’s independence... the yellow and red colors in the triangle symbolize the mineral wealth and independence struggle of the country... it includes the image of a Kalashnikov rifle with a bayonet attached to the barrel crossed by a hoe, superimposed on an open book... the rifle stands for defence and vigilance, the open book symbolises the importance of education, the hoe represents the country's agriculture, and the star symbolizes the spirit of the international solidarity of the Mozambican people... as for most of my African received postcards I donated money to charity to buy children's books for local libraries💙... Thanks a lot Alena!【ツ】
