GERMANY ~ Sylt Island - Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park - UNESCO ~

...Sylt Island is the largest German island in the North Sea and known as "Queen of the North Sea"... it is a beautiful Frisian island tucked in the northwest corner near the North Sea... there are endless white beaches, iconic sand dunes known as "kniepsand" and wildlife... with pristine air and where the water teems with sea life, including marine mammals... it is a natural heaven and paradise... Sylt is one of the most expensive travel destinations in the country... also this time with cute " Mainzelmännchen" stamp and sweet first day postmark💚... Thanks a lot Dustin! (ヅ)

Sylt is Germany’s fourth largest island, shaped like a small strip in the Schleswig Holstein Wadden Sea National Park, covering an area of 99 square kilometers. On the eastern side is the North Sea and on the Western side is the Wadden Sea. It was once part of the mainland, and is still shrinking due to erosion from the North Sea and also originally part of Jutland (today Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein).

Since 2009, the Wadden Sea around Sylt has been part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage.
