CROATIA ~ Zadar - UNESCO ~

... Nice aerial view of a small picturesque place situated in the heart of the Adriatic... this unique old town with its 3,000-year-old history with its countless historical buildings and the numerous important attractions are worth exploring... Zadar's famous city walls, called 'Muraj' by locals, fortifications and gates on the historical peninsula are a symbol of the city’s turbulent past...  but there are also many stunning beaches around this coastal town... it is is the second-largest city in Dalmatia and one of the most popular holiday destinations in the country... Thanks a lot Agi! (✿◠‿◠)

Zadar is located on the end of a low-lying peninsula that is separated by the Zadar Channel from the islands of Ugljan and Pašman. The inlet between the peninsula and the mainland creates a natural deepwater harbour. It is the oldest continuously inhabited city in Croatia.

Venetian Works of Defence of the 16th and 17th century, located in today’s Croatia, Italy and Montenegro, joined UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2017 as an outstanding monument of the modern maritime fortification scheme.
