... Nice views of a barely known and very young national park in Hungary... being one of the most important sites in Europe for both breeding and migrating birds... the major task of this national park is the conservation and propagation of Hungary’s most viable bustard population... migratory birds including wild ducks, cranes, plovers, etc... 🦆a bird watcher's heaven🦆...there are many important bird habitats such as grasslands, riverside woodlands, marshes as well as man-made and natural aquatic habitats.... among the mammals, one of the strongest communities in Hungary of the strictly protected otter lives here in the lakes and channels... expert guides to the nature conservation areas and bicycle hire are available... Thanks a lot Bori for another great NP! ❁◕ ‿ ◕❁
The Körös-Maros National Park is located in the south-east of Hungary and was established in 1997 as the seventh national park of Hungary in order to preserve the nature and landscape of the Southern Tiszántúl and covers an area of about 501.34 km².
The national park has 13 territory units enclosed by the Körös Rivers from the north, the Maros River from the south and the Tisza River from the west. In the areas accompanied by the rivers can be found the species of great value of the former marshlands. In many places soft-wood forests and willow-poplar bushes grow alongside the rivers.
