RUSSIA ~ Kizhi Pogost - Kizhi Island - Republic of Karelia - UNESCO ~

... Wonderful unique example of Russian wooden architecture... the world famous Transfiguration Church with 22 wooden domes... the biggest building in the world that’s made entirely from wood (even down to the nuts and bolts)...  a fairytale-like scene in a beautiful setting... the churches, bell tower, and other wooden structures blend wonderfully with their surroundings...the whole island is an  “Open Air Museum” of wooden architecture... to this day, these buildings on the small island of Kizhi, serve as a Russian Orthodox church for the surround rural communities...  Khizi is a must-see for any visitor to Russia... with great matching stamp👍... Thanks a lot Julia!!(✿ ♥‿♥)
