SRI LANKA ~ Fishing Boats - Negombo ~

... Nice view of traditional Sri Lankan" outrigger" (known locally as Oruva) fishing boats... carved out of tree trunks and nylon nets to bring in modest catches from September through till April...  unless the weather is very stormy the fishermen go out fishing every day early in the morning and late at night... for stability these long thin boats have an outrigger that is kept on the windward side...  nowadays the fisherman also rent them to tourists to make a trip at sea...Thanks a lot dear Ravindra!!(✿ ♥‿♥) It was such a relief to hear that you and your family are safe after the brutal terror attacks on your island...
