... Lovely bird view with great matching 2019 EUROPE stamp "national birds" and postmark💚... it's a bird of open country with scattered bushes and hedgerows... they are often seen perched on top of a hedge or bush, singing... but like many of our farmland birds, the Yellowhammer has declined in number in recent years... this German stamp is taking part at "The Europa Stamps Bird Project 2019" which allows you to scan the stamps in order to hear the bird's song with a special app... the Belgians EUROPE stamps also and they will be released on June 17... unfortunately I will not be able to swap many of them because the souvenir sheet of two stamps has a 2X Europe 3rd class value and cost 8,40 €ðŸ¤”... Thanks a lot Dustin!!✿◕ ‿ ◕✿
The Yellowhammer is a sparrow-sized, bright yellow bird of woodland edges, hedgerows, heath and farmland that feeds on seeds and invertebrates. In the winter, it will join mixed flocks of buntings, finches and sparrows to feed on seeds on farmland. The female builds a cup-shaped nest from grass and moss, laying between two and six eggs.
