... Great aerial view of the Turkish Side of Nicosia... the only divided capital in the world... it’s under the control of two countries, Turkey and Greece... despite the rough history of the city, things are quite harmonious today and tourists can freely cross the "Green Line"(a demilitarized zone maintained by the United Nations).... Nicosia’s most prominent landmark (also clearly visible from the southern half of the city) is the Selimiye Mosque... beautiful mix of a building... a cross between a French Gothic church and a mosque... its fascinating history stretches back to the 13thC... Thanks a lot Andrene!! (✿ ♥‿♥)
(Still looking for one with stamps and postmark of North Cyprus itself)😉

The northern half of Cyprus’ capital Nicosia is known as Lefkoşa. This part of the city is the capital and the largest city of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The city is the economic, political and cultural centre of Northern Cyprus. Niscosia is on the Pedieos (Kanlidere) river in the centre of the island.
