TURKEY ~ Mardin - UNESCO (Tentative) ~

... Nice view of a city full of religious and cultural history... often been considered as an open air museum due to its historical architecture... home to stunning churches, mosques and madrassas (places of study)... also famous for its numerous minarets spiking out of the steep hill... a step back in time... Thanks a lot Eray!!【ツ】

Mardin is a city in southeastern Turkey known for its Arab-style architecture, and for its strategic location on a rocky mountain near the Tigris River overlooking the plains of northern Syria. This is one of Mesopotamia's oldest settled areas, with evidence of human habitation dating back to 4,000 BCE.

The whole city has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site under the "Mardin Cultural Landscape".
