The Ubudiah Mosque is Perak's royal mosque, and is located in the royal town of Kuala Kangsar.
The word “ubudiah” means “to yield oneself to the will of Allah”. It was the name chosen by the then 28th Sultan of Perak, Sultan Idris Murshidul Adzam Shah I when he decided to build the mosque in 1911. The mosque was designed by Arthur Benison Hubback, the British architect who also designed the Ipoh Railway Station.
Completed in 1917, this mosque has Moghul and Indo-Saracenic architecture. The golden domes with black and white minarets rise above a white building with Moorish arches and decorations.
