BELIZE ~French Angelfish ~

After El Salvador, it is the smallest political unit on the mainland of the Americas.  Belize is bordered on the north by Mexico, on the south and west by Guatemala, and on the east by the Caribbean Sea.

It's known for its beaches, eco-lodges, scuba diving and sportfishing. Offshore, the massive Belize Barrier Reef, dotted with hundreds of cayes, hosts rich marine life. Belize’s jungle areas are rich with Mayan ruins.

It is the only country in Central America whose official language is English, though Belizean Creole (Kriol) and Spanish are also commonly spoken.

The French angelfish, Pomacanthus paru, is a large angelfish of the family Pomacanthidae, found in the western Atlantic from New York and the Bahamas to Brazil, and also the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean, including the Antilles, Roatan, and the eastern Atlantic from around Ascension Island and St. Paul's Rocks, at depths of between 2 and 100 m. Length is up to 41 cm.
