Phayathai Palace is an early 20th century Royal Residence in the heart of Bangkok.
The Palace was built by King Chulalongkorn the Great (Rama V) in 1910 along the banks of Samsen canal,
The Phya Thai Palace was only used by King Rama V for a short time as he died several months after the crowning of the new king.
The former royal residence has had a multitude of uses during its history ranging from hospital to hotel to radio station, but it is now a museum featuring exhibits and photos from the time of King Rama V.
