The Tam Giang-Cau Hai-Thuy Tu Lagoon is located in the central province of Thua Thien Hue in Vietnam. It is the largest lagoon system in southeast Asia with nearly 70 km length along the coast and about 22,000 ha of water surface. The lagoonal system consists of several smaller lagoons, namely Tam Giang, Thanh Lam, Sam, Ha Trung, T
huy Tu, and Cau Hai from the north to the south along the coast.
A lagoon is a shallow coastal waterbody, completely or partly separated from a larger body of water by a barrier island, coral reef or other depositional feature.
