The National Park of Mala Fatra (also called Little Fatra), is situated in the westernmost Slovak high mountains Mala Fatra.The park nowadays spreads over 226 sq. km. Mala Fatra has legal protection since 1967 as a Protected Landscape Area Mala Fatra and in 1988, this territory was declared as a National Park.
