El Salvador is the smallest and the most densely populated country in Central America, it borders the Pacific Ocean on the south, and the countries of Guatemala to the west and Honduras to the north and east. Its easternmost region lies on the coast of the Gulf of Fonseca, opposite Nicaragua.
Suchitoto is small colonial city in the central part of the country and is the cultural capital. It is known for its beautiful church, cobblestone streets, art galleries and its amazing view of the Suchitlán lake, which is an artificial lake formed in the Lempa river and the Cerrón Grande dam.
