BRAZIL ~Tunnel Ayrton Senna - São Paulo~

...A fantastic choice of card for a F1 lover...a homage to Senna one the greatest  racing drivers ever...
Thanks a lot Elton!!

With lots of nice stamps.
In 1995, the City of São Paulo (under Ibirapuera Park) commissioned a sculpture in his honor to mark the entrance of the Ayrton Senna Tunnel. Entitled “Speed, Soul and Emotion”, the sculpture also displays a Brazilian flag, in memory of Senna’s trademark gesture of celebrating every victory by raising the Brazilian flag inside his car.

Three-time world champion in 1988, 1990 and 1991, Ayrton Senna da Silva was Brazil’s greatest pride in Formula 1 car racing. He is one of Brazil’s most famous sports figures and one of the best car racers of all times.

In 1994 at the San Marino Grand Prix, Senna’s successful career and glorious life came to an abrupt end. As he rounded the Tamburello corner, Senna lost control over the car and crashed violently into a concrete wall. Nothing could be done to save his life. Ayrton Senna, the famous Brazilian sports hero, died in a tragic car accident.
