PITCAIRN ISLAND

.... Amazing aerial view of a small volcanic island... a tiny "rock" and one of the loneliest places on earth located deep within the South Pacific... with a population of only around fifty, the island is best known as home of the descendants of the Bounty mutineers and the Tahitians who accompanied them... an event retold in numerous books and films... and the last British Overseas territory in the South Pacific... a must see for adventurous travellers looking for truly remote places... you can explore this untouched suptropical island environments, pristine waters, endemic flora, bird and marine life... it's only accessible by boat through Bounty Bay, due to the island's steep cliffs... Thanks a lot Amelia!(✿ ♥‿♥)

The Pitcairn Islands group is a British Overseas Territory situated in the South Pacific about 5,000 miles east of Australia. It comprises the islands of Pitcairn, Henderson, Ducie and Oeno. Pitcairnn is the second-largest island and the only inhabited.

The island group was named after fifteen year old midshipman Robert Pitcairn, who first sighted the main island on the third of July 1767.

Pitcairn was the first Pacific island to become a British colony in 1828. The island is approximately 3.2km long and 1.6km wide (4,6km2) with the capital Adamstown located above Bounty Bay.

PITCAIRN ISLAND - British Overseas Territory ~

..  A fantastic "rare" new island to add to my collection👍... a remote archipelago and one of the loneliest places on earth in the pacific ocean... that must also be the reason why it took almost 4 months to arrive... with a population of only around fifty, the islands are best known as home of the descendants of the Bounty mutineers and the Tahitians who accompanied them... an event retold in numerous books and films...  the small islands make up "Pitcairn Islands Marine Reserve"... one of the largest areas of protected ocean on the planet with an area  around 830,000 km2... the Pitcairn waters are in a near-pristine condition... at some sites, visibility can reach a staggering 75 metres... Thanks a million dear Andrene!!(✿ ♥‿♥)... (don't think I will ever get another one😍)
