BERMUDA ~ Horseshoe Bay - Southampton Parish ~

... Pretty view of the crown jewel of Bermuda’s beaches⛱️🌞 🌊... with its famous pink sand, turquoise waters, and dramatic rock formations, it’s no wonder this beach consistently ranks among the best in the world... the sand gets its unique light pink hue from crushed coral and shell particles... it’s pillow-soft, fine, and perfect for strolling barefoot... the clear, turquoise water is ideal for swimming and snorkeling... walk down the beach to find the dramatic limestone cliffs formations elevated with picturesque greenery... a must-visit for anyone traveling to the island... but being one of the most popular beaches on the island, it can get busy during peak season... Thanks a lot Diego! (✿ ♥‿♥) especially for thinking of me while on vacation!

Horseshoe Bay is located on the South Shore of Bermuda's main island in Southampton Parish.

It was named Horseshoe Bay for its distinctive, curved shoreline that resembles a horseshoe. This shape was naturally carved over millennia by wave erosion of the island's limestone bedrock into a cove with a curved shoreline.

BERMUDA ~ St. Peter's Church - St. George Island - UNESCO ~

...  Lovely view of a small, very simple Anglican Church with a long history... the first Church build in the Western Hemisphere... established by Bermuda's first settlers, the Virginia Company in 1612... for over 400 years this has been the church of the town... it is a cultural and historic icon... a holy place at the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the oldest Anglican church in continuous use outside the British Isles... but due to storms and a hurricane the church doesn’t look anything like the original building... in the 400 years since the church was founded, its undergone several renovations... Thanks a lot Denise! (•‿•)

St. George's Parish is one of the nine parishes of Bermuda. It is named in honour of the patron saint of England, though it is indirectly regarded as being named for the founder of the Bermuda colony, Englishman Admiral Sir George Somers.

In 2000, the Historic Town of St. George and its Related Fortifications became a UNESCO WHS site.

Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic Ocean, some 600 miles to the east of North Carolina. So it is not a part of the Caribbean islands, located much more to the south.

The British Overseas Territories are those parts of the former British Empire that have not acquired independence, or have voted to remain British territories. While each has its own internal leadership, they share the British Queen Elizabeth II as head of state.

Somerset Island is one of the main islands of the chain that makes up Bermuda, and lies in the far west of the territory. The small village of Somerset lies in the northern part of the island located in Sandys Parish. It also includes Boaz Island, Ireland Island and Watford Island. They are all connected by bridges and serviced by buses and ferries.
