GERMANY ~Bauhaus Museum - Dessau - UNESCO ~

And this postcard is an image of the Bauhaus Museum😉... to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Bauhaus in 2019, the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation inaugurated a new museum showcasing its massive collections... the Bauhaus collection is here in its entirety for the first time... the exhibition displays over 1,000 artefacts, which is made up of around 50,000 objects in total, making it the second largest Bauhaus collection worldwide... the museum features a suspended concrete "cube" within a glass exterior, with the ground floor offering public space and temporary exhibitions... the upper floor is devoted to the permanent collection...  Thanks a lot Dustin!(✿◠‿◠)

The Bauhaus Museum Dessau is a building within a building – a bar of concrete that appears to be suspended in mid-air, encased within a glass shell. In an open international competition with 831 entries submitted from all over the world, the jury selected the concept proposed by Addenda Architects, a young architectural office in Barcelona, at the end of 2015. The design stands out due to its clarity and simplicity.The outer shell of the museum consists of a glass façade on all four sides.

The museum building is located within the UNESCO World Heritage site that includes the original Bauhaus building and Masters' Houses.
