.... Nice view of a Crusades-era cathedral built as a place of worship for the crusaders when Byblos was an important port for the crusader kingdom of Jerusalem... located in the heart of Byblos surrounded by a beautiful garden known for its olive trees.... one of the most ancient churches in also one of the oldest inhabited and historic cities in the world... it has been preserved in its original state of grandeur in and out... the cathedral today is catholic and is open during the day for the parishioners as well as visitors... It holds daily services, concerts and different religious events....a must visit church whenever you are in Byblos... Thanks Nassib!【ツ】

Byblos, modern Jbail is located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, north of Beirut.
This Romanesque church is the cathedral church of Jbeil. The church is dedicated to Saint John Mark, the patron saint of the town, who is said to have founded the first Christian community of Byblos.
The church itself was built in 1115 AD by the Crusaders, originally as the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist. The structure was extended and improved over subsequent centuries. It is a mixture of Arab and Western European designs, with remains of Byzantine mosaics from an earlier structure scattered around the area.
Byblos was declared a UNESCO Heritage Site in 1984.
