The Lena Pillars Nature Park is a geological site located in the Sakha Republic of eastern Siberia.The total area of the park is 485 thousand hectares.
They were produced by the region's extreme continental climate. During winter temperatures can reach -60°C and 40°C in summer. The pillars form rocky buttresses isolated from each other by deep and steep gullies developed by frost shattering directed along intervening joints.
The word lena comes from the Russian regional language, Elyu-Ene, which means it is a large river.
National Nature Reserve Lena Pillars is one of the national parks in Russia since 1995.
The park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2012.
