GERMANY ~ Museum of Modern Art - Bonn ~

... Night view a modern architectural gem which focuses on contemporary German art... the collection comprises approximately 9,000 works of art, with a focus on the work of August Macke and Rhineland expressionists and showcases an impressive collection of art in Germany after 1945 including paintings, photography and video art... it is one of several prominent museums located along Bonn's famous "Museum Mile"...  this is a stretch of cultural institutions that showcase everything from contemporary art to natural history... it is one of Europe’s largest museum networks with five museums located in close proximity to one another... with great World Postcard Day postmark👍... Thanks Dustin!【ツ】

The Kunstmuseum Bonn or Bonn Museum of Modern Art was founded in 1947. Its new building, designed by the Berlin architect Axel Schultes and opened in 1992, is considered throughout Germany to be one of the most important examples of museum architecture in recent decades.

The present building has three entrances, symbolising openness. The design of the staircase has been described as a precise geometry, cut like jewellery. The conception of light brings the collection to life. The total exhibition area is around 4,000 square metres.
