... Another nice view of one the biggest cultural buildings in Europe located in the historic centre of the city... Berlin’s Humboldt Forum, an unlikely fusion of old and new by architect Franco Stella... this reconstructed Prussian palace is home to the Ethnological Museum, the Museum of Asian Art, as well as temporary exhibitions and the Humboldt Lab exhibition and event spaces... it has six entrances along its 120m length, and three inner courtyards functioning as public squares... with lovely stamp nr3 of the fairy tale "Hans in Luck" by the Brothers Grimm and great first day postmark...Thanks Dustin!【ツ】
The eastern façade of Humboldt Forum is formed by a grid façade in modern architecture. It follows the storey height of the baroque façades and is clad with slabs of architectural concrete. The coloration is related to the neighbouring baroque sandstone elements.
The museum is named after the brothers Wilhelm and Alexander von Humboldt, who brought forward a scientific and educational model influenced by the arts and philosophy of the beginning of 19th century.
