... Lovely views of "The Grassfields" a highland area situated in the West regions of Cameroon... Mount Bamboutos is a volcanic massif of very rugged and varied landscape with several high peaks, steep slopes and deep valleys... and part of the Cameroon Highlands Forest... formerly a biodiversity hotspot, it was home to many endemic species including Cross River gorillas and chimpanzees... now, large parts of the mountain have been completely deforested and turned to agriculture and settlements, and much of the biodiversity has been lost... Thanks Akam!【ツ】

Mount Bamboutos massif spans three administrative regions of Cameroon (southwest, west and northwest), 5 divisions (Bamboutos, Menoua, Mezam, Momo and Lebialem) and 8 subdivisions. It is mainly inhabited by the Bamileke tribe.
Forests of Mount Bamboutos include both tropical wet montane forests above 1,700m of altitude also called cloud forest, as well as tropical sub-montane forests in the lower slopes of the mountain range from 1,100 to 1,750 meters. Mt Bamboutos is one of the major water catchments of Cameroon, and its streams feed several of the major rivers of Cameroon.
