The Logar Valley is a typical U-shaped glacial valley located in the far north of Slovenia close to the border with Austria. The valley is about 7km long and between 200 and 500m wide.The Kamnik-Savinja mountains are: Ojstrica, Planjava, Brana, Turska gora, and the Rinkas.

The valley name is derived from the Logar Farm, which is in the glacial valley, and in 1987, the major part covering 25 km2. received the status as protected landscape park.
