GERMANY ~ Paderborn ~

... Nice view of a city with over 1,200 years of history... standing tall and proud in the heart of this town is the Paderborn Cathedral dedicated to Saint Mary, Saint Kilian and Saint Liborius... the Romanesque-Gothic cathedral we see now was built in the 13thC and has since been one of the city's most historically rich places... the Diocesan Museum, built in the late 20thC is housing more than 12,000 pieces of work... it was originally founded as a space to hold liturgical works but soon became a treasure trove of medieval art... with great special postmark⚽ mailed on World Postcard Day👍... Thanks a lot Dustin!【ツ】

Paderborn is the largest city in Germany’s Westphalia region, capital of the Paderborn district and once a power base of the Holy Roman Empire and king Charlemagne’s seat,

The name of the city derives from the river Pader, Germany's shortest river (4km only), which originates in more than 200 springs in a park near Paderborn Cathedral.
