Lake Louise originally known to the local Stoney-Nakoda people as Ho-run-num-nay, or the “Lake of Little Fishes” is a glacial lake within Banff National Park in Alberta.

The hotel is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Louise facing the Victoria Glacier. The surrounding mountains include Mount Victoria, Mount Lefroy, Mount Aberdeen, Mount Temple, Mount Beehive, Mount Whyte and Mount St. Piran.

Banff National Park is Canada‘s oldest national park, established in 1885 in the Rocky Mountains and is the third-oldest national park in the world. 

Banff is part of UNESCO’s Canadian Rocky Mountain World Heritage site.
