"Palau de la Música Catalana" (Music Palace), is a concert hall designed by the architec Lluís Domènech i Montaner and opened in 1908.
It is built in the Catalan Modernisme style for the Orfeó Català, a choral society founded in 1891 that was a leading force in the Catalan cultural and political
independence movement.
Outside, the building is decorated with a massive sculptural group symbolizing Catalan music by artist Miguel Blay.
The Palau de la Música Catalana was declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1997.
