The Belgian Rene Magritte (1898-1967) was one of the most well known and famous surrealist painters of all time. He became well known for a number of witty and thought-provoking images that fall under the umbrella of surrealism. His work is known for challenging observers' preconditioned perceptions of reality.
This mysterious image of a mighty, leafy tree transformed into a cylindrical cupboard with a white ball and illuminated house reveals the lasting impact of the Italian painter Giorgio de Chirico's pittura metafisica on Magritte's oeuvre.
Stamps:
From an Art booklet (self adhesive stamps) with 10 paintings of the artist Magritte.
Card signed by the designer Myriam Voz.
