MALAYSIA ~Batu Caves complex-Lord Murugan~

Got my second card from Edna's travels...The giant golden statue and steps are looking already impressive on the postcard, so I think to be there and stand in front of it must be really imposing!!Thanks a lot Edna!!
With lovely flower stamp!

Batu Caves is a limestone hill, which has a series of caves and cave temples, located in Gombak district. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu or Batu River, which flows past the hill.
The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is the focal point of Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia.
Sculpted by master artisans from India, Lord Muruan looms 42 meteres high beside the 272 steps leading to Batu Caves complex.
