Wondeful view of the German Coast at the Baltic Sea! (DE-849233
The Baltic coast stretches across the north of Germany from Flensburg on the Danish border to Ueckermunde on the Polish border. By road these towns are 450 kilometres apart.
The Baltic is an unusual sea, low in salt with little tide. The climate is cool. The summers are short. The Baltic offers miles and miles of gently sloping sandy beaches of white chalk sand. In places these give way to cliffs and flat, boggy land that is a haven for birds and wildlife. Many of the beaches are set in pine forest wildernesses.
