UKRAINE ~St Trinity Gate Church and Great Belfrey~

Thanks to Alex I received another great Church and Belfrey card! Got already a few Churches view of Kiev and each time I'm amazed by the beauty of them... Great minisheet stamp also! Thanks Alex!:-)

The Gate Church of the Trinity (XII C) is a historic church of the ancient cave monastery of Kiev Pechersk Lavra originally being built as a Kievan Rus' style church, the Gate Church of the Trinity is now decorated in the Ukrainian Baroque style, having been reconstructed many times through its history.

The Great Lavra Belltower or the Great Belfry is the main belltower of the ancient cave monastery of Kiev Pechersk Lavra in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. It is one of the most notable buildings of the Kiev skyline (see picture).
