Göreme National Park is located in the Cappadocia region of central Turkey, within Nevşehir Province. Established as a national park in 1986, the protected landscape surrounds the town of Göremee covering nearly 100 square kilometers.Wildlife within Göreme National Park is less prominent than its geology and cultural heritage but remains an important component of the protected landscape.

Together with the Rock Sites of Cappadocia, the area was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.
