It is the busiest station in Japan in terms of number of trains per day (over 3,000),Today, more than 350.000 people pass through the station every day.  It is also served by many regional commuter lines of Japan Railways.

Inspired by Amsterdam's Central station Tokyo Station is an impressive 304 meters long and is one of the biggest in the world. It has a symmetrical design, with identically shaped wings flanking its entrance, which was constructed for the Imperial family. In 2012, Tokyo Station building was successfully preserved and restored to its original state.
